Burlesque, Me and the W.I.
From empty nest to great success, the story of one woman’s journey to bring together 2 things that were world’s apart. Lindsey’s story of single mum looking to make friends will take you via the pitfalls of trying to ‘join in’ at a variety of classes to finding her feet, via her right arm , and discovering Burlesque whilst in her late 40s and then joining the Women’s Institute and teaching Burlesque to other WI members, and then forming a dance troupe, The Burlesque Bombshells.
The Calendar Girls may well have paved the way, but for the past 10 years, The Burlesque Bombshells have dug up the road and planted flowers! A talk that a lot of people can totally resonate with. It’s funny, it’s sad, it’s inspiring and it has a happy ending. It’s got Brit Flick written all over it.
